"There is absolutely no substitute for the best. Good food cannot be made of inferior ingredients masked with high flavor. It is true thrift to use the best ingredients available and to waste nothing." - James Beard

Our Story

Our story begins in the early 1800's when Lemuel Wilson returned to western North Carolina after making his fortune in the California gold rush.  He purchased hundreds of acres in the Fork Branch valley of Watauga county.  The Raven Rock site has remained in the Wilson family for 5 generations with various farming activities.
